A private circle of ten women · Six months
ATHANOR
by Wisely Attached
Six months for the woman ready to build the self who can hold the life she is imagining.
A private circle of ten, held by Louize Carroll.
September 2026 to March 2027.
athanor
noun
The alchemist's furnace. The vessel that holds a slow, steady, unwavering heat, the one constant warmth under which true transformation becomes possible. Not the dramatic flame that burns out, but the contained fire, tended over time, in which base metal was said to become gold.
Lasting change in a person works the same way. Not a single insight that flares and fades, but a steady warmth, held long enough, in good company, to turn experience into wisdom.
The stance I work from
ATHANOR does not approach you as a problem to be solved or fixed. I am here to show you what you are capable of, and to help you build the self who can go and live it.
Louize Carroll
Before the life you want
There comes a point when a woman can feel that the life she has been living is no longer the full size of her.
This is a sign of growth, not of anything gone wrong. Something in her has outgrown the inner arrangement that once kept her safe. The old identity, organised around survival, adaptation, keeping the peace, being good, being manageable, staying within the bounds of what once felt permissible. It no longer fits the life that wants to come through her.
This is for the woman standing at that threshold. The one who can feel there is more in her than her current life is making room for. More truth. More selfhood. More range. More life. The one who knows the question is no longer simply what she understands, but who she is becoming. The one willing to picture who she intends to become, and then build the selfhood and capacity to live as her.
You have done the learning. The therapy, the books, the podcasts, the long private effort of trying to understand yourself well enough to change. You know what you know. You can name your patterns in your sleep. But knowledge alone does not make a woman capable of holding a larger life.
Because when the moment comes, the old response is often still faster. The going quiet. The smoothing it over. The bracing. Whatever yours is. It arrives before the deeper self can fully take the lead. And that is where the real work begins, in becoming more able. More able to stay. More able to choose differently. More able to live from the woman you already know is there.
This is the work of building the self who can hold what is calling her forward. And it is far easier, and far sweeter, in good company.
There is something in you reaching for more
A truer life. A life that fits the woman you are becoming.
A life where more of you gets to be lived. Your voice, your standards, your desire, your intelligence, your range. A life less organised around old fear, old adaptation, and the habits that taught you to hold yourself back before life even had the chance to meet you properly.
Sometimes this is a matter of uncovering a self that was always there. And sometimes it asks for something more honest than that. The self you built to survive what you came through served you well, and it may simply not be the self that can hold the life in front of you now. A larger life can ask you to become someone you have not yet been. Not a return to who you were, but the deliberate building of who you choose to be. You picture the woman the next part of your life is asking for, and then you become her, quality by quality, choice by choice, until she is no longer an idea but the person living your life.
Because what keeps a woman small is often more complicated than a lack of courage. Sometimes it is fear. Sometimes it is old conditioning. Often it is the price of becoming more visible than she was taught was safe. A life can stay narrow not because there is no more life in her, but because too much of that life has been shaped around what felt permissible, acceptable, or survivable.
A larger life begins when that changes. When she sees herself more clearly. When she no longer treats discomfort as danger, or someone else's reaction as a reason to abandon what she knows. When her selfhood becomes strong enough that she can stay in contact with herself, even as life asks more of her.
That is the life ATHANOR is built to walk you toward.
The room you want to be a part of
Women strengthening selfhood in one another.
It is Monday morning. A conversation that did not go the way you hoped. A choice you almost made and then didn't. A small but significant shift that nobody in your life would understand the size of, because they are not tracking what it has taken for you to get here.
You bring it to nine women who understand immediately. Women doing serious work on themselves and with each other. Women who can hear, beneath the surface of the story, the exact threshold you are standing on. One catches the old pattern before you can fully name it. Another recognises the moment because she has lived her own version of it, and can speak not only to what it cost her to choose differently, but to what opened when she did. Another asks the question that cuts through the whole fog.
And I am there, holding the depth and direction of the conversation. Tracking the structure underneath what is happening, naming the relational dynamics and the selfhood the moment is asking of you, often before you have language for it yourself. You do not leave with vague encouragement. You leave more seen, more accurate, and more equal to the woman you are becoming.
The women who make it
You grow your own selfhood by extending it to others.
Something happens when a woman offers another woman her clear attention. She finds her own ground in the act of holding someone else's. The listening sharpens her discernment. The honesty she offers becomes honesty she can keep with herself. In strengthening another woman's selfhood, she strengthens her own.
This is why the circle works. Ten women, each bringing the real thing rather than the version that looks handled, each listening for the woman underneath another's story. You arrive willing to be known, and willing to offer the same steady attention back. You do not need to be polished or sure of yourself. You only need to be in it, with them.
The woman who comes ready to give that, and to receive it, is the one this changes most.
If something in you is already leaning toward this, that is the thing to trust.
Apply to ATHANORThe shape of the six months
Two phases of new, live work.
Our live time together is new material, created for ATHANOR and centred on Selfhood. Beneath it sits the entire body of my work, yours to move through at your own pace as a foundation, while the live rooms are where the deeper work happens, curating and bringing to life the identity and Selfhood you are growing into.
Phase One · Months One to Three
Identity & Selfhood
Meeting who you are, and picturing who you are becoming.
We meet the parts of you that formed in response to other people, and find the centre that does not move when the room does. From there, you begin to picture who you are choosing to be next, and the selfhood that woman would need. You learn to tell an old fear from a present truth, and what is yours to carry from what someone is asking you to carry for them. This is the identity everything else is built on.
Phase Two · Months Four to Six
Inner Capacity
Building what it takes to live that self fully.
Especially when the old move is faster, more familiar, and feels safer than the newer one. This is the slow, lived-in building of the capacity to hold your ground, to bear the consequences of your wisest choices, and to stay home in yourself when another person's reaction would once have taken you out of the room.
Inside the two phases
What actually happens across the six months.
I
Months One to Three
Identity & Selfhood
The first half of our time is the work of meeting and strengthening who you actually are. Before you can live differently, there has to be a self solid enough to live from.
We go to the parts of you that formed in response to other people. The self that learned to read the room before it had read itself. The self that learned to give more than it had and call it love. We meet them with understanding rather than judgement, and we begin to find the centre underneath them, the one that does not move when the room does.
From that centre, you begin to picture who you are becoming. Not who you were before life shaped you smaller, but who you are choosing to be next, and what kind of selfhood that woman would need. You start to tell the difference between an old fear and a present truth. Between the voice that has always pulled you smaller and the voice that knows the way. This is the ground everything else is built on.
II
Months Four to Six
Inner Capacity
The second half is where understanding becomes something you can actually live from, especially in the moment the old move is faster, more familiar, and feels safer than the new one.
This is the slow, lived-in building of capacity. Holding your ground without over-reaching to manage the response to it. Staying home in yourself when another person's reaction would once have taken you out of the room. Bearing the consequences of your wisest choices, the guilt of no longer appeasing, the disappointment you cannot prevent, the grief of stopping the old chase.
A self that knows how to stay the distance with all of it. By the end, the wiser move is not the one you reach for after the fact. It is the one that arrives first.
How the work is built
Three strands, woven across six months.
Lasting change does not come from understanding alone. It comes from working the mind, the lived experience, and the body together. ATHANOR moves through all three.
I
Relational understanding
The framing, the language, the relational map. Why the older move is faster, where it was learned, and what a wiser one asks of you. The mind needs to understand before the body can change.
II
Lived practice
The live material of your actual week, brought into the room and worked in real time. This is where understanding becomes capacity, in the company of women who recognise the moment before you finish the sentence.
III
Body and nervous system
The deeper layer beneath insight. Learning to stay in your body when the old fear arrives, so that steadiness is something you feel, not something you perform. This is the work that lets you live by what you already know.
What six months holds
This is where insight becomes selfhood.

What the six months walks you toward
What changes is not what you know. It is who you become.
Across hundreds of people, the same thing comes back. Not insight. They had insight already. What they had never built was a self that could finally live by it, and it arrived in months, at a depth that understanding alone had not touched.
A life where you are discerning.
A life where you trust yourself, and let that trust lead how you relate.
A life where you are steady, and another person's reaction can move through the room without derailing you.
A life where you can hold your ground and stay connected at the same time.
A life where your selfhood is strong, and from that strength, you finally get to deepen relationships the way you have always wanted to.
The Eight Qualities of Selfhood
What gets built in you.
Selfhood is not one thing. It is an architecture, eight qualities that hold a self together. ATHANOR is where they stop being ideas you understand and become the way you move through your life.
01
Coherence
The same woman in every room. Not a different self for each person you are trying to keep, but one self that holds together whoever is across from you.
02
Separateness
Knowing where you end and another begins. Telling the difference between what is yours to carry and what someone is asking you to carry for them.
03
Interiority
A rich inner life you can actually feel and read. Knowing what is happening in you before you have to manage what is happening in the room.
04
Discernment
Telling the difference between an old fear and a present truth, between the voice that has always pulled you smaller and the voice that knows the way.
05
Containment
Other people's reactions move through the room without moving through you. The moments that used to take you out of yourself find you still here.
06
Durability
A self that bends and does not break. That can take the friction of being a separate person, the disappointment you cannot prevent, and stay whole through it.
07
Authorship
You choose from a wise and clear centre, from who you are now, rather than from the reactive move that arrives before she does. You hold the pen.
08
Self-fidelity
Staying true to yourself under pressure. Not abandoning your own knowing the moment it costs you something to keep it.
And the bridge between them all
Self-trust
What happens when you become the safest place you have to come back to, whether you succeed or screw up royally. Self-trust is what turns these eight qualities from things you understand into the way you actually live.
From the people who have done this work
In their words.
These are people who arrived already thoughtful, already self-aware, and found something here that the years of understanding had not given them. This is what they say it changed.
You have done more for me in 3 months than a lifetime of talk therapy. I now trust that from within myself, I am enough, I have enough, and I bring all earlier versions of myself along safely to my future. I am free to be me.
JAN S.
“
Wisely Attached was life-changing for me in that it helped liberate me from patterns that felt impossible to break, despite years of therapy. Even within the 12 weeks of the program, I found myself taking courageous steps towards a healthier, more fulfilling path that felt true to me.
MARI M.
“
This programme showed me the true meaning of self worth and feeling safe within myself to live my life the way I chose to, and to have the autonomy and agency to make the right decisions for myself.
RACHEL L.
“
She is a highly skilled and gifted psychologist with an abundance of empathy and compassion that it's almost impossible not to feel safe within her presence.
RACHEL L.
“
I came to this programme with a wish, to love myself more so that I could pass that feeling onto my children. I left with so much more. It is not loving yourself more but building self trust, self respect and self acceptance that is key in this journey.
HANNAH M.
“
6 months ago when I signed up, little did I know that I had just made, singlehandedly, the best decision of my 48 years so far. Having been in talk therapy for nearly 5 years, I had an inner knowing that this was the programme for me.
RACHEL L.
“
This course is literally 'Wisely Attached' through the glue of effort. The more effort you make, particularly emotionally, the more wisdom you get to keep. This is a practical course, it works, provided you do.
PAUL KENNEDY
“
I have participated in therapy for many years, and while it always helped, I never felt I got to the core of myself and my needs. Through Louize's incredible guidance I feel more secure in knowing myself and truly understanding my wounds, my wild, and my needs.
JENNIFER C.
“
At the ripe old age of 39, I feel like I've emerged from the 12 weeks, finally, finally feeling like a competent, confident adult. Anytime you step outside your comfort zone Louize is right there to guide you through the mud.
MAURA B.
What is included
New live work, and the whole of my existing library.
The live rooms are new material made for ATHANOR, centred on Selfhood. Beneath them, the entire body of my work is yours to move through at your own pace, for the full six months and beyond.
| 27 hrs | Live group sessions, online Three live rooms each month across the six months, designed as an experience unlike anything else you have sat inside. The heart of the work, where your week is met, mirrored, and turned on its axis, with me holding the architecture underneath. |
| 9 hrs | Guest sessions Six sessions with carefully chosen company, brought in across the six months to deepen and widen the work in ways I am keeping for the women inside. |
| 8 hrs | A full day, gathered in person Somewhere held and beautiful. A full day into the evening. The hinge of the whole thing, where the women who have been faces and voices to each other become real, in a room, in the body. |
| 12 hrs | A weekly live ritual, in The Wise Guys From your first week you are also part of The Wise Guys, my wider community, where a short live ritual each week, Regulate, Reframe and Reconnect, gives you thirty minutes to come back to yourself and steady before the week ahead. Additional live support, every week, alongside the core work. |
| ✦ | Audio training between the rooms Teaching you can take into your week, so the work keeps moving in the ordinary days, not only in the scheduled hours. |
| ✦ | A private Telegram community Our own space, away from the noise of everywhere else, where the women back one another in the real and ambitious lives they are living, the next career step, the audition, the launch, the creative work, the hard conversation, with me in there alongside you. The bond stays alive between the rooms. |
| Plus | The entire body of my work, yours for the six months |
| ✦ | The Wisely Attached 12-week programme My core signature programme, the self-paced foundation beneath the live work. It walks you through understanding your patterns and wounding, meeting your three selves, and building the selfhood and tools to relate from a stronger centre. |
| ✦ | Reclaim Yourself in 30 Days My 30-day programme, to move through whenever the moment is right for you across our time together. |
| ✦ | The Wise Move The complete Selfhood audit and practice, the first map of where your selfhood is strong and where it asks for more. |
| ✦ | Your place in The Wise Guys For the six months of ATHANOR you are part of The Wise Guys, my alumni community, with its weekly live ritual and ongoing connection. When the live work closes, you can choose to continue in the circle, or renew into another cycle of ATHANOR. |
There is more inside the room. The rhythms, the rituals, the particular elements that make ATHANOR what it is, are for the women who come forward to apply.
Once your place is offered
Choose how closely you want to be held.
Both tiers are a complete ATHANOR. The in-person day, the live group rooms, the 12-week Wisely Attached programme, and six months of held work are yours in either. Inner Fire is the most personal tier, offered to a small number of women by private application, and adds six private one-to-one sessions with me and a direct voice-note channel between them.
This is a six-month mentorship with limited numbers. Coming into ATHANOR is not buying sessions. It is entering a sustained space for deep and lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others.
Who this is for
For the woman who knows there is more in her.
Heart-led women in visible, demanding lives, who have done the learning and are ready to live it. She may be any of these, or all of them.
The Creator
An artist, writer, performer, maker. She knows the work asks her to be fully herself, and she is tired of the fear that shrinks her right at the edge of being seen.
The Founder
A leader, a builder, a woman running her own enterprise. She holds her ground all day in her work, and wants to hold it just as cleanly in the relationships that matter most.
The Heart-Led Woman
Sensitive, passionate, courageous. She feels everything deeply and has often paid for it by going quiet. She is ready to let her selfhood be as strong as her heart is open.
What they share is this. They have done enough on their own to know how capable they are, and they know how much further they could go with the right circle around them. They are ready to stop letting fear, and other people's smallness, set the ceiling.
If something in you is leaning toward this as you read, that is the thing to trust.
The woman who thrives here
She is already on her way.
She has done the years of looking inward, and she is no longer waiting to be told whose fault it is. She knows the shape of what formed her, and she has turned, with real courage, toward what is hers to carry now.
She is not here to be agreed with. She is here to be met, and asked something of, and changed. She wants the kind of company that will not let her abandon herself, and will not simply nod along either. She is reaching toward more life, with both hands.
If you have read this far and felt yourself say yes, you already know. That recognition is the truest application there is.
For the right fit
A word on what this is, and is not.
ATHANOR is a mentorship. It is not therapy, and it is not trauma work. It is for the woman who has already done a good deal of her healing, and is ready to build the self that lives on the other side of it.
Trauma deserves dedicated, one-to-one clinical care, at your own pace, in a setting built to hold it. A group moving forward together is not that setting, and I would not serve you well by pretending otherwise. If you are in the thick of fresh grief, acute distress, or pain that is still raw, the most respectful thing I can do is say so, and point you toward the right support first. That door stays open for ATHANOR another time.
This room begins from a self steady enough to build on, and takes her further. If that is where you are, you are in exactly the right place.
How the room is held
The circle is chosen, not filled.
Chosen by hand Ten is a deliberate number. Small enough that no one disappears, and that real trust has room to form. I read every application myself and build the group with as much care as I bring to the work inside it. | Held in confidence What is shared in ATHANOR stays inside it. Many of the women who come are visible in their own worlds, and that discretion is not a courtesy here. It is the ground the work stands on. | Closed once we begin Once a cycle begins, the circle is closed and no one joins midway. I would rather a place stay empty than be filled by someone who is not right for it. The depth is the whole point, and protecting it is my work. |
The woman holding the room
Louize Carroll
Chartered Psychologist, RLT Coach, Founder, Musician, Writer, Creator.
The woman holding the room
I got into psychology because I thought I wanted to understand myself.
I was a highly sensitive person living in a world that felt like it was running at a volume I could not regulate. I wanted to understand why other people seemed able to hurt without a second thought, while I could not stop feeling everything that happened in every room I walked into.
What I did not understand until much later is that studying people was also a way of trying to stay safe around them. If I could read you well enough, I could manage you, and if I could manage you, I would be alright. It took me a long time, and a fair amount of heartbreak, to learn a different way to be safe. From the inside out, rather than by watching everyone else. The coming home I now hold for other women is not a theory I teach. It is a road I have walked, in all its wild, painful, beautiful detail.
The thing that changed people was never more knowledge. It was building the self that lets you stay who you are, and relate well, with anyone in front of you and in any room you walk into, the ones that matter and the ones that frighten you.
That is the whole of this work. A strong self, and the capacity to relate from it. One is not much use without the other.
I am Louize Carroll, Chartered Psychologist registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland and Founder of Wisely Attached. I am a Relational Life Therapy coach, qualifying as a Therapist in RLT with the renowned Terry Real, and I hold an MA in Social and Organisational Psychology from University College Dublin. I am ACT-certified. ATHANOR is a mentorship, grounded in over twenty years of working with people on their relational and inner lives. I do not offer psychotherapy or psychological services within it.
The standing behind the work
A life authored, not inherited.
Louize has spent her life authoring things into being. Over more than twenty years she has worked at the centre of Irish mental health, the corporate world, and the creative industries across Ireland and Los Angeles, never as a bystander, always as the one making something happen. That same drive built Jigsaw, the national system of care for young people's mental health, earned her a seat on the mental health advisory panel of A Lust for Life, and made her one of Ireland's go-to media psychologists across radio, print and podcasts.
She is also a founder. Across her career she has founded and cofounded several ventures, including PRISM Therapy Online and The Blink Effect, a leadership programme delivered to teams at KPMG, EY and Bank of Ireland. Today she runs Wisely Attached, the company this work lives inside. She knows from the inside what it asks of a woman to build something of her own.
She is also an artist. Bass player in the Irish band The Blizzards, and an award-winning and nominated screen composer who assisted Martin Phipps (Peaky Blinders, The Crown) on the BBC series Black Earth Rising, with her own scores recognised at the Kerry, Bolton and Queen Palm film festivals.
The range is the point. ATHANOR is led by a woman who authored her own life, and helps other women author theirs.

Practicalities
The detail.
Ten places per cycle, with an additional two held back for exceptional women who are called to come on board. ATHANOR will only run once in 2026. The next cycle will be in Spring 2027.
Investment: ATHANOR €4,500
Inner Fire is by private application, with the detail shared on your clarity call.
Spreading the cost. Payment plans are available across up to nine months, so the investment can be carried over time rather than all at once. If the work is right for you and the timing is the only thing in the way, say so on your form and we will find a way that works.
The application form takes about five minutes. Nothing here commits you. It ensures you receive the details sooner than the wider public, and gives you the first opportunity to book a call with me and secure your place if it is a good fit.
Questions, answered plainly
Before you decide.
If your question is not here, that is exactly the kind of thing the conversation after your expression of interest is for.
Is this therapy or psychological treatment?
This is a serious investment. How do I know it is worth it?
I have already done so much work on myself. Is there anything here for me?
How much time will this actually ask of me?
What is the live work, and how does it relate to your other programmes?
What is the difference between the two tiers?
I am nervous about the group. What if I do not fit?
Do I have to travel for the in-person day?
Is there a payment plan?
Can I apply if I am a Wisely Attached alumna?
What happens after I express interest?
Ten women · September 2026 to March 2027
There is more in you. You have always known it.
If your whole body is leaning toward this as you read, that is the thing to trust. Fill out the application form, and I will be in touch personally if it is a good match. There are no wrong answers. I just need honest ones.
